Groundwater & quatic ecosystems

GeoChip has been used to analyze microbial communities (water and sediment samples) from aquatic ecosystems, especially US DOE contamination sites like the Field Research Center, Oak Ridge, TN (He et al., 2007; Van Nostrand et al., 2009; Xu et al., 2010), marine sediments in the Gulf of Mexico (Wu et al., 2008), two pesticide-impacted European rivers, the Ebro in Spain and the Elbe in Germany (Tas et al., 2009), healthy and yellow band diseased (YBD) coral (Kimes et al., 2010).
